Three Swale Entrepreneurs make the Top 30 under 30 List

Swale Means Business is pleased to report that three of the borough’s young entrepreneurs were acknowledged in the recent Top 30 Under 30 guide.  The judges from a range of business sectors and young people focused organisations, based their decisions on achievements to date, perceived influence and the potential of these young entrepreneurs to change the course of commerce in the future, both within the county and nationally.

The Swale entrepreneurs were:

Britt Whyatt – She Who Bakes
Aged 27 from Lower Halstow

This baking blogger’s sensationally sweet tooth has earned her a following of more than 9,000 people on Twitter and over 3,000 people on Instagram. She is writing her first cookery book and has given talks internationally about her journey from depression to an award-winning business woman. She works as a cake-decorating teacher and is a former winner at the Kent Independent Trader Awards.

Ben Bartlett – Bush Grub & Claws and Jaws
Aged 24 from Sittingbourne

This wildlife enthusiast set up company with his father selling edible insects, securing the right to use I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’s branding. Last year they sold more than 100,000 packets of their ‘edible novelties’ into 27 countries. The firm won KEiBA Start-Up of the Year in 2014. He started Claws and Jaws aged 17, taking venomous snakes, birds of prey and spiders to children’s parties, schools and fairs.

Ryan Woodard – Talking Fly
Aged 25 from Minster on Sea

Brides and grooms across the county recommend this guy, whose reputation has spread largely thanks to Facebook. He set up after his next door neighbour asked him to film their wedding and offered to film others for free to build his portfolio. He launched Talking Fly in 2012 and has become one of the county’s most respected videographers.
