Tourism businesses asked to provide visitor data for Covid-19 research

Thursday 1 October 2020

We are looking for data from accommodation, attraction and hospitality businesses to help inform Covid-19 research on the impact the pandemic has had on your business.

The information will be used to help inform the work of those regional and national organisations which champion the tourism sector.

The research will also be used to consider initiatives to provide support in the future.

Details of the request

If you are interested in taking part, please provide the following information:

  • Swale businesses in the tourism sector that regularly collect visitor data are being asked to provide the following information: visitor totals for the years: 2017, 2018 and 2019; visitor peak month total pre-Covid (2019); visitor typical daily total pre-Covid (2019); 2020 prediction.  If you do not have all of this information, please feel free to send us any data or comments you have which would help contribute to the picture of the local Swale economy.
  • In addition, for those who wish to assist further, we welcome any comments that expand the narrative. What have been the key challenges and issues you have faced year on year and have they changed as a result of anything other than Covid-19 such as new levels of business investment, adverse (or conversely) exceptional weather, and marketing campaigns.
  • Please also feel free to let us know if you would like to subscribe to the regular Swale Visitor Economy news ebulletins which include industry updates, stories and business advice. Please indicate if you would like to be added to our email distribution list.

Please email your response by Monday 12 October 2020 to the Tourism Support inbox.
