South East Business Boost
What is the South East Business Boost (SEBB)?
The SEBB Programme offers growth grants for capital items and projects. The grant will range from a minimum of £1,000 to a maximum of £1,300. The maximum grant intervention rate is 30%. Applicants must pay for any costs not covered by the grant with private funding. Expenses must be paid for and evidenced by the business, prior to claiming and receiving the grant amount back from SEBB.
Am I eligible for SEBB?
The SEBB programme supports Small & Medium Sized Enterprises. This is defined by the number of Full-Time Equivalent staff, and the company’s turnover and balance sheet.
Apprentices/students in vocational training who have apprenticeship/vocational contacts are not included in the staff headcount.
Please note that the following sectors aren’t eligible due to State Aid regulations
- Fisheries and aquaculture which are supported through EFF
- Primary production, processing and marketing of agricultural products, which is supported through EAFRD
- Coal, steel and shipbuilding sectors.
- Synthetic fibres sector.
Is my proposal eligible?
The SEBB programme only supports businesses based in the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) area. A SEBB grant may be used to support projects that facilitate growth and expansion of a business. Additional aims of the programme are to stimulate job creation, allow for the introduction of new-to-firm products or services, and support new businesses.
Please note that claimable costs should not have been initiated or incurred prior to the grant being approved; the business shouldn’t make any purchases relating to the project until after the business’s application has been approved and has been notified by Southend Borough Council.
